Useful places, shared by everyone

TagMaps makes it easy for anyone to create, share, and manage tags for the exact places that matter. People can contribute useful location knowledge, whether it is a community meeting spot, a detail within a larger venue or a mobile business's temporary stop. You can share a location without a fixed street address or a conventional business listing.

Add the details people need

Describe a useful spot within a place, like a store aisle, or a food truck's current stop. Choose coordinates and add the details that help others find it. Device location can be imprecise indoors; navigation goes to the tag's coordinates. Tags are static by default. If you choose Live location, your device location is published about once a minute while TagMaps is open. Switching apps, locking your device or pressing Stop sharing stops updates. The tag keeps its last published location; continuous or background tracking is not available.

Explore, share and connect

Browse and search active public tags without an account. Open a tag to read its description, view an optional photo and navigate to its coordinates using an external maps app. Sign in to create and manage your own tags, choose an expiry (one month by default), share links and message tag owners.

Choose what you share

Public tags are visible to anyone. Private tags stay out of public discovery; any signed-in person with the exact private link can view them. Expired tags leave discovery and remain inactive in your owner history until you delete them. Location permission is optional; you can explore the map manually.

Why we offer Google sign-in

Google sign-in is optional and is used to authenticate your TagMaps account. We receive your Google account identifier, email address and basic profile information, such as your name and profile picture, through our authentication provider, Supabase. This lets us recognize your account and authorize your tags, profile and conversations. TagMaps does not request access to your Gmail messages, Drive files, contacts or calendar. Email and password sign-in is also available.
